HISTORICAL BOOKLET


Dr Jacqueline Leckie, Anthropology Department, University of Otago is conducting a project on the history of Indian settlers in New Zealand. We have received an appeal from her requesting us to contribute to any material which will help her in this exercise.

Items that could be sent to her include photographs and written or tape-recorde versions of life histories, newspaper articles, trade advertisements and other memorabilia. Dr. Leckie will return all items sent to her and pay for the return postage costs.

The historical project welcomes contributions from individuals and families. The research phase is a cooperative project between NZ Indians and the University of Otago

NZICA is committed to the publication of a quality history of Indian settlers in NZ and their descendants.

Jacqueline Leckie is co-ordinating and writing a book The Indian Diaspora to Aotearoa/New Zealand: Settlers and Beyond. Below is outlined the chapters of the book:
