With extreme sadness, this is to inform that New Zealand Indian Central Association lost its Rotorua branch president; Kishorebhai Morarji in a road accident on Saturday. 52 year old Kishorebhai has been a proactive social activist, with an outstanding track record of managing community organizations and maximizing their effectiveness. The community shares the grief with the family (two sons and wife) The funeral is scheduled for Wednesday 3rd Feb 2009 at 1.p.m. at Sala Street – Crematorium in Rotorua.

Our deepest sympathy to the family of Kishsorebhai. We have been associated with Kishorebhai for a long time, over 15 years on community and association related work. We have many happy memories of Kishorebhai, associating with us at various places such as Rotorua, Wellington, Auckland, in fact wherever we had to meet on Indian Association related matters. In fact, we left at the same time as Kishorebhai from the meeting and I felt so sad to hear the news next morning. I have looked at myl collection of recent nice photographs of Kishorebhai and it is hard to believe that this has happened and that he is no more with us. We pray to God that his soul rests in peace and our heartfelt condolences to the family. Om Shanti.
Balubhai Mistry

On a more positive note, as I understand, Kishor Bhai, prior to leaving us all, spent the saturday morning in Rotorua with several Sants from Swami Narayan Sanstha. What an auspicious deed. He later attended the NZICA meeting in Morrinsville representing the Rotorua Indian community-yet doing another service for his people. As I also understand he was returning to Rotorua to meet the Sanths whom he had looked after during the morning. Sadly, he did not make it say final goodbye to the sants. The Sanths were waiting eagerly for his return. It seems the almight God wanted Kishor Bhai's service more. Kishor Bhai left us all doing service for his people. Our prayers will be always there for him and his family.

We express our deepest condolences to the Kishorebhai Family and friends. Indeed,God has mysterious ways of taking away the best from us because they are needed up there. One of the greatest deed for mankind is service to the community and humanity. Kishorebhai has been a living epitome of this, he proved that while living and even in his death. Great are those parents who gave us such a community worker and an exemplary son. We share in this bereavement with the Kishorebhai Family and pray to Almighty God to grant them the strength to pass through this difficult period. Not only is he a loss to his family and friends, but to our Indian Community at large in New Zealand. May his soul rest in peace.

Kishor bhai Family members
Please accept Our heartfelt sympathy on the passing of KishorBhai.
Many great words have been said about Kishorbhai, and we wholeheartedly endorse them. Kishorbhai worked tirelessly for the community with great enthusiasm. I once asked him how he got involved in Association matters. He said that the elders from Rotorua wanted to attend NZICA conferences and meetings, and they took me as a driver. While taking others, he became enthusiastic in NZICA matters, and more involved. It is so ironical that while Kishorbhai for many years escorted the respected elders from Rotorua in a safe manner, he should meet such a tragic end.
Kishorbhai along with others, worked hard to ensure that the youth of the Bay of Plenty Sports club could attend the Queen’s Birthday Sports Tournaments again. His dedication ensured the very first Ladies conference held in Rotorua was a great success. The ladies conference has gone from strength to strength, this is due to Kishorebhai’s hospitality and enthusiasm at this conference.
On behalf of the Pukekohe Indian Association, Our sincere condolences on the loss, to all his family members. It is a loss not only for the Rotorua Indian community, but the whole New Zealand Indian community.
Bhikhu Bhana

Hasmukhbhai, it is with such sadness that on returning from the NZICA Executive meeting early this morning I had to learn of the tragic loss of Kishorbhai, having just telling him to drive safely just 15 minutes prior to his unfortunate loss. Can you please pass the following message onto Sarlaben, your Executive and to your members please. On behalf of the Central Districts Indian Association and the Central Districts Indian Sports Club we wish to show you our deepest sympathy in the sad loss of your President, a respected member of the Rotorua Indian Community, a husband and father.
I know both myself and Anita (secretary) have experienced a great friendship with Kishorbhai as you know and we have both enjoyed his company over the many years that we have known him. I find it hard to believe that we have lost such a member of the community that played a key role in the NZICA AGM's and Executive meetings over the years. He was a person that got on well with all cross sections of the community and had a very social approach to a lot of matters but his dedication to Indian affairs and the love of his mother country, always shone in the way he spoke.
Kishore will be sadly missed by myself, Anita, Suresh (from CDISC) and all other members in the Palmerston North area that have had the privilege of knowing him. I would appreciate it if you could pass on our sincerest condolences to Sarlaben, to his children and to is parents, as he will be sadly missed.

I will always remember him as a gentleman who was always willing to lend a hand and his devotion to volunteer work especially for Bay of Plenty (Rotorua) Association and NZICA was highly commended. May you treasure his memories.

To All Dears and Near ones of Kishorebhai I am Still stunned by the news about Kishorebhai His ever friendly and polite manners Subtle jokes and small talks and always so helpful in any thing organised by BOP and finally when he got his deserving position as President of BOP branch he has been taken away in such a tragical manner At Morrinsville, inspite of busy time he still managed to share few laughs with me and Ravinder. we can carry on writing and talking about him in future. He is one of us who passed away " in Line Of Duty" to be remembered ever. from whole of my team at COUNTRY SECTION, CONDOLENCES AND SYMPATHY TO THE FAMILY AND WE WILL ENDEAVOR TO REMEMBER HIM FOR EVER. I am utterly shocked to hear this sad news. Kishorebhai had been talking to me about his ideas on bringing changes in NZICA. He mentioned again and again that His heart is in India. "I want to give something back to my native land" he said just before we dispersed yesterday. His words resound and make me sad May Kishorebhai's soul rest in peace!
Nimi

I first got acquainted with Kishorebhai in the late 90s when he was the Secretary of the BOP (Rotorua) Indian Association, and had very cheerfully agreed to send me a message for the Gandhiji Anniversary Volume we were putting out at Wellington.

Later when I met Kishorebhai, I felt he was a genuinely kind person, helpful to people and very courteous in his dealings with others. In December 2008, when we had an executive meeting in Rotorua, Kishorebhai showed me their hall and the Rotorua Association historical booklet, in compilation of which he had played a very significant role. I felt he was showing me his labour of love.

Kishorebhai was most helpful in sending a warm message along with his then President Mr. Krishna Lal Pragji for the Gandhiji book. He wrote in essence: "There is a vivid story of little Mohan (Gandhiji) being afraid of the dark and unable to sleep. His maid guided him 'If you take the name of God Rama, no evil spirit will come near you'. From that day onwards Mohan started taking the name of Rama right till he died"

Further he had written : "Gandhiji's entire life was a struggle. He devoted it to helping people who were in need. He reminded us that we come to this world empty handed and leave it empty handed, so why not live this life with minimum necessity instead of being greedy. He himself lived a very simple life and whatever he owned, he was ever ready to share with others."

I believe Kishorebhai too lived his life like his idol Gandhiji, always ready to help people in need. Is it ironic or some twist of fate that Kishorebhai passed away the same date on which Gandhiji too left us, 30th January.

My sincere condolences to his parents, his wife Sarlaben, their sons Praful and Vipul and other family members for this loss in their lives, and may God Almighty give them strength and succour to bear it. I also offer my condolences to the officers and members of the BOP (Rotorua) Indian Association and other associations and Mandirs with which Kishorebhai was associated.
With deep regret,
Tehemton B. Adenwalla
NZICA Webmaster and member of Wellington Indian Association
