2. Sub Committee Information

Women’s Committee is a sub-committee of NZICA and it’s objective is to address issues facing Indian women in NZ. This sub-committee has been in existence since the formation of NZICA and it’s members are appointed each year at the AGM of NZICA every year

The Women’s Committee Role is :
1. Promote interest of Indian women
2. Promote advancement of Indian women
3. Educate women on health, welfare, social and topical issues
4. Increase awareness
5. Raise concerns of Indian women at Central level
6. Provide assistance either on personal or referral basis
7. Provide support either on personal or referral basis

Roles
Role of Chairperson and its committee is to inform Mahila Mandals of branch associations on current issues affecting women and advise of upcoming events.  The committee also organizes an annual conference, prints newsletters and members attend other women conferences, meetings etc.

Women’s Conference to held on 1st and 2nd March 2008 in Wellington
(hosted by Wellington Mahila Mandal)
